Footprint Introductions

Description: The first project that we did for class was to create an introduction footprint describing ourselves. The first thing that we did for this project was to trace our foot on a piece of construction paper and then cut it out. Then I designed the different symbols that help symbolize me, my interests, and my hobbies. I cut out and created the different symbols and spaced them out on my footprint to see how it would look. Some of the symbols that I chose to do was the flags from Poland, and the Czech Republic because I had the opportunity to travel there with the School of Education at NSU, another was the 4-H clover because I was involved in 4-H for 14 years where I was involved in leadership opportunities, create projects, and show livestock. I put the sheep on there because I raise and own a sheep herd with my brother, and I included the country of Norway because my family was originally from Norway, and it is now a place that I would love to travel to and visit. My favorite subject is history, and I included a red N which is supposed to symbolize Northern State University. I also included some sports and hobbies that I enjoy which are baseball, football, and pickleball. After I completed my footprint, we presented them in front of our classmates.

Extension Activity: An extension activity that I could include with this project is to partner students up and ask them to write a short story including some interests off of the footprint for both students. This would allow the students to get to know more about each other and their hobbies that they are passionate about.
