Description: In celebration of Dot Day that occurred September 15th, we listened to the book called The Dot by Peter Reynolds. After we listened to the book we created our own dots in honor of Dot Day. First, we started with a coffee filter and wrote on it with markers and oil pastels. Then I took water-based paint and painted my dot to match the colors that I wanted. The water helped blend the markers into the project and created the picture of the dot that I wanted.
Extension Activity: An extension activity that I can do with this project is to go into teaching a lesson about shapes and ask the students to do a shape scavenger hunt around the classroom where they walk around and identify the different shapes of objects.
